| Everyone knows the miracle of the Hanukkah story was that even though the Maccabees only had enough lantern oil to last for 1 night it ended up lasting for 8 nights. But when we look at that story with a critical eye... Isn't the real lesson of Hanukkah simply: "Always manage expectations and a little 'secret hoarding' when times are good will look like a miracle in bad times"? Damn, I'm cynical. Forgive me. |
