My Crazy Storyline for a Terminator sequel

I just brainstormed a Terminator sequel with a storyline subversively infused with the ideas of techno-futurist Ray Kurzweil.

As Broadway's "Wicked" is to "The Wizard of Oz" so too would this sequel be to the original Terminator. The audience sees the flip-side of the story. In this sequel the audience will root for the Machines!!!

That's because Skynet isn't really an entirely machine-created automaton but rather the unified collection of enlightened people's minds merged into a mega-computer all in service of an advanced human population.

The "resistance" therefore is only a barbaric, Luddite clan of people who, unprovoked, first sought to depose/terminate the human "elites" which, in turn, spawned the Skynet counter-offensive.

The first, second and fourth Terminator stories are therefore untrustworthy propaganda due to an unreliable narrator John Connor (and of course, the third film "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines" being so anathema to the spirit of the franchise that it doesn't even count).

My Fifth Terminator storyline tells a sympathetic tale of the machines as good guys.

Of course, in my finale, the viscerally satisfying twist would be that the trusting human protagonists (who aid the machines in killing resistance members) are ultimately horrified to learn that they themselves were duped by the machines. The machines are indeed evil and Skynet has no human component whatsoever. The trusting humans should have never betrayed the other humans in the resistance.

Does this story make any sense as I've written it here? It's 2am and I fear that I'm rambling (and procrastinating). Feedback?
